Volvo Powertrain in Flen is a key facility for the refurbishment of engines and gearboxes for trucks, buses, construction machinery, and marine engines. In 2024, Volvo relocated its operations from central Flen to a newly renovated facility in the Talja industrial area, a few kilometers outside the city. During the move, Volvo Powertrain took the opportunity to improve the work environment by installing a specially designed noise enclosure with Maxibell noise-dampening walls from Industridraperier.

Effective sound dampening with noise walls

To create a quieter and more comfortable work environment, Maxibell noise walls were chosen—a sound-dampening solution tailored for industrial settings. These noise walls can be customized to suit the facility’s requirements and are installed on-site by Industridraperier.

At Volvo’s plant, noise walls up to 12 meters in height were required. The wall surface consists of 1 mm alu-zinc steel for durability and robust construction, with an 80 mm mineral wool core for optimal noise reduction. Windows, doors, and openings for overhead cranes were customized to meet operational requirements.
